Località

From the Pleta follow the path towards the Puig del Martell and its striking doline (the Camp-rodó). Shortly before reaching it, leave the path and descend, to the left, following some boulders, down to the bed of the Fondo de les Guineus. From that same bed, look for a faint trail, much trodden, that starts a few metres upstream. Follow it about forty metres up and turn right. Walk horizontally, straight ahead, about forty metres to the small entrance.

Descrizione

Morfologia

Through a small entrance between blocks one enters a gallery of rounded section, about 15 metres long and steeply inclined. At its lower end it opens into a small 6 metre deep shaft at the bottom of which the point of maximum penetration is reached.

Concrezioni

All the walls of the passage are lined with lithogenic formations of modest dimensions.

Storia

On 29 May 2004, three veteran cavers: Fèlix Alabart, Lluís Muntan and Emili Sabaté, while taking a walk-prospection around the Pleta, found a small hole between stones which they soon began to dig open. As that day they were unable to gain access to the interior, they returned, provided with the necessary tools, on the following 12 June. Then indeed, they were able to complete the digging open and explore this new pit, which by the way, even before finding it they had decided that, if they discovered a pit, they would name it Avenc dels Veterans.
