Descrizione
Morfologia
Through the small mouth and a drop of just over 1 metre, one enters a narrow, short passage that leads into an irregular 30 metre shaft, which widens in the middle section and then narrows again towards the end. At its base, towards the SW, a small chimney can be reached that rises 4 metres, and to the SE progression continues through a new shaft, almost 9 metres deep, which via a low passage connects to another of just over 10 metres. At its base begins a subvertical passage, very narrow and normally muddy, which after about 12 metres of travel leads into a series of drops and small shafts until reaching a blocky area, from where a short gallery can be reached that ends in a small chamber originated by a blind-vault concavity that rises about 6 metres. Again at the entrance to the blocky area, a small 5 metre shaft opens, followed by a short drop that leads to the point of maximum depth.
Progressione
Since its discovery and for many years, this pit was the paradigm of opposition techniques (ramonage), since it was normally explored without even a metre of ladder; only the most prudent placed a cordino in the area of the first shaft.
Altri dettagli
Cavity originated from infiltrations from the doline over a set of joints that give rise to a series of cavities that later come into contact. The upper part of the pit is in a very primitive phase of genesis; the rest are more evolved and show some evidence of clastic processes.
Storia
Discovered by speleologists from the mountain section of the Centre Gimnàstic Barcelonès (years later SAS del CGB) on 8 December 1957, after many hours of digging out a small hole beside the path that led to the Campgràs doline. That day one of the members managed to descend about 20 metres. The full exploration was carried out the following Sunday, the 15th. From that exploration, without a survey, they attributed a depth of 107 metres to the pit, and although later members of GES – CMB made the survey, attributing 87 metres of depth to it, until not many years ago the figure of – 107 was still repainted at the mouth.
A few days after the first exploration, members of GES visited the cavity and, we do not know when, made the survey, which was not published until 3 years later.
In 2003, members of GE Badalona made a more accurate survey of this well-known cavity.
