Località

On the left bank of the Sot de la Carda and 200 metres from the thalweg in the direction of the summit of the Muronell.

To reach it, take the track that leaves from km. 12 of the road from Castellar to Sant Llorenç Savall and follow it as if going to the Avenc del Muronell, passing it and continuing up the gully until, on the right of the track, you find a very dilapidated old woodcutters' hut, from where you must continue about 50 metres in a N direction to reach the pit.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The entrance is 7.5 x 5.5 metres and at one of its ends grows a leafy holm oak that partly covers the entrance. The walls are earthy and some of them covered with moss and ferns. Structured on an important N-S joint.

Progressione

The tree's roots allow you to descend to the bottom, where no continuation can be seen.

Storia

Known by Mr. Josep Lleixà, a former woodcutter from Sant Feliu del Racó, who in early 1982 accompanied Jaume Claverí (GES-CMT) to the entrance. A few days later it was explored by colleagues from the SIS-CET.
