Località

It must be located on the western slope of the upper plateaus of the Tossal del Pou – Esplà, which are reached by a turnoff from the track from Gerri de la Sal to the Cuberes refuge (Casa Miró). From the few data given by its first explorers, we assume that it must be located relatively near the L85.1 pit, but a search carried out in May 2010 by members of the ERE and the SIE proved fruitless.

The coordinates that appear on the original record are of low precision and in the field we have tried to adapt them as much as possible to the hypothetical location of the cavity.

Descrizione

Morfologia

Fissure 44 m deep. It begins with an 18-metre pit that introduces us into the main joint that forms the cavity. At its base, the floor is full of blocks and the fissure presents two options to follow.

Progressione

Towards the NW it continues along a descending ramp that reaches the -24 level, then continues along an ascending one that climbs to the -14 level and where the progression ends.

From the base of the pit and in a SE direction, a new pit is reached, with a drop of 8.5 metres and between blocks wedged in the walls. A little further on there is a 4-metre step which, once overcome, leads to a descending ramp that reaches the point of maximum depth of the cavity.

Storia

Discovered by a hunter who indicated it to members of the GE Badalona, who carried out the first exploration in June 1985.

Inside they found a complete human skeleton, possibly from the time of the Civil War (1936-39). This detail reinforces our theory of its location, since in this area there are remains of trenches from that era.
