Descrizione
Morfologia
The pit opens to the outside by means of two entrances 3 metres apart, which lead to respective shafts that join at -7 metres. Entering through the good one located to the N (the other is impenetrable) we reach a 15-metre shaft with its base formed of small blocks. In an E direction we find a narrow fissure which we reach through a crawlway located beneath two wedged blocks, and which gives way to a couple of climbs and descents until ending at the point of maximum penetration of the pit at -17.50 metres. A couple of metres below the junction of the two entrance shafts, we find that the upper part of this fissure is penetrable for a few metres.
Storia
The name of the avenc del Bufi (without accent) comes from the nickname of one of the participants in the first exploration. The clearing and first exploration was carried out on 9-4-1967 with the participation of J. Sanmartin, J. Amades, A. Cruz, Alfons, and J. de la Vega, members of the SIRE-UEC Barcelona popularly known at that time as “Santana”. According to the explorers they assign it -17 metres of depth, considering that the cavity has possibilities of continuation. On 23-7-67 A. Riera and A. Cruz (SIRE-UEC), explore the cavity again assigning it some exaggerated -26 metres of depth. We will have no more news of the cavity until the publication of the first volume of the Catálogo Espeleológico del Macizo de Garraf, where a survey made by J. Borràs (GES-CMB) is published, in which it is assigned -19 metres of depth. On 16-5-2014, Jaume Ferreres and Jordi de Valles (ECG), carry out a new survey, once they have verified that someone (?) has been clearing the final part of the cavity without positive results, the authors of this latest survey assign it 17.5 metres of depth.
