Località

On the BV-5115 road towards Gualba, shortly before kilometre 5, we find a roundabout which we leave by the left (2nd exit); we follow the road, which soon ceases to be asphalted, until we find the junction with the road to Campins; we continue straight on along the track (from this point vehicle traffic is prohibited); following the main track we reach a quarry; the track makes a sharp bend and continues climbing in the direction of the Americano quarries; shortly before reaching them we find a junction; the cavity is on the left of the track shortly before reaching the junction.

Morfologia

A pit 10 metres deep. From the opening, through a narrow descending corridor between bedding planes, one reaches the base of a bell-shaped shaft formed by the erosive action of water in free-flowing conduction along a main joint running N-S. At the bottom of this entrance section, a series of small lateral chambers with a very low ceiling have developed.

Prior permission is required to visit these installations. We believe that new authorisations will be difficult to obtain for safety reasons which the company documents conclusively. Therefore, this note does not constitute a recommendation to visit; on the contrary, it is a statement of the practical difficulty of exploring the documented underground cavities, and of the need to agree any intervention beforehand with AYMAR.

Storia

Located by Joan Sabaté in October 1972. Explored by him and other colleagues from SIRE-UEC Gràcia on 4 and 17 February 1973. They returned on 11 March of the same year to carry out the survey. It seems that in the lower galleries the explorers had problems with hypoxia.
