A 16-metre-deep pit in Vallirana.

Località

By the track that leads from the ruins of Can Ardenya towards the Creu d'Ardenya, on reaching a point where on the right there is a track, some cultivated fields and the remains of some stone huts, we will continue from the huts for 97 metres in a northerly direction, where we will find the cavity in the middle of the woods.

Descrizione

Morfologia

A shaft 14.6 metres deep with a small ledge at -11 metres. The deepest part of the base places us at -16 metres.

Storia

The first exploration was carried out on 27 September 1897 by N. Font i Sagué and a whole series of companions and labourers who lowered him seated on a crossbeam tied to a rope. The same system that three months later he would use to carry out the historic descent of the avenc de Can Sadurní.
