Descrizione

Morfologia

The cavity opens in an old abandoned quarry; at the entrance we find some masonry walls, which we suppose were built to prevent anything from falling in.

A narrow shaft of 0.75x0.55 and 5.75 metres deep from the lower lip places us at its base; on the E side a small step gives access to a small chamber, and on one side of this, at ceiling level, we find an access to a tiny little room.

Back at the base of the shaft, on the N side through a narrow passage we find a step of about 2 metres with a dome in the upper part; at the base we find a narrow passage in the bedrock that prevents passage, but behind it there seems to be a possibility of continuation.

Storia

Everything suggests that this small cavity was opened during the quarry's extraction works, probably in the early years of the 1960s. The quarry has been abandoned for many years now.

The first speleological reference we know of is the exploration in 1966 by members of GIE – CE Gràcia led by the then very active Eugeni Marigot. They only left a small mention of the activity in the Club's bulletin.

We know that over the years it has been visited occasionally by some cavers, but despite this the cavity had remained practically unpublished.
