Caratteristiche

Località

On the road that climbs from la Palma de Cervelló up to the Fontpineda urbanisation, about one hundred metres after passing a 180º right-hand bend, the cavity is found in the left wall of the road, between the avenc de Can Montmany and the road.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The entrance, half obstructed by two blocks, opens into the centre of a gallery of inclined section. On one side, after descending a few metres down a gentle ramp, the gallery ends. On the other side, after descending a 5-metre shaft, a gallery begins that is at first descending and of very irregular plan. Above the point of maximum penetrable depth and after climbing a few metres, the gallery continues horizontally after passing a crawl; this gallery is 8 metres long and 1.5 metres wide and ends by becoming impenetrable.

Progressione

On one side, after descending a few metres down a gentle ramp, the gallery ends. On the other side, after descending a 5-metre shaft, a descending gallery of very irregular plan begins, by which the maximum penetrable depth -15 metres is reached. Above this point and after climbing a few metres, the gallery continues horizontally after passing a crawl.

Storia

The first exploration was carried out in 1958 by members of the then GIE (predecessor of the SIE) of the CE Àliga (Barcelona).
