Caratteristiche

Località

Access is via the path that runs along the ridge where the ruins of Can Dispanya and the avenc de la Plomada are located; 245 metres beyond the turn-off to go to the latter pit, we will find a new path on the left that was opened during this past winter (2014-15). ED50 coordinates X:407376; Y:4583316.

This path soon begins a steep descent until reaching a crossroads; we will continue along the left-hand path, which levels out until reaching the cavity.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The lowest of the three entrances that the cavity has gives access to a first 2-metre drop. We find a ramp and a new 3-metre drop that leads us to a wide room with a sloping floor. At one end of the room there are two small galleries and a 4-metre pit that takes us to a gallery that opens onto the ceiling of a small chamber, which is connected to the base of the pit by means of a small corridor.

Storia

Discovered and explored by members of the GIE del CE Àliga (predecessor of the SIE) on 28 April 1957, who named it Avenc de les Tres Boques. Later they were accompanied by their friends from the SES Puigmal (F. Alabart, E. Sabaté and others) and it was the subject of many photographic sessions due to the many and varied lithogenic forms that existed there at first. Everyone said: “that such a beautiful pit” and from this they decided to change its name.
