AR-15.AR-15BIS Artaxiozulo

This sinkhole has 2 small entrance openings close to each other (8m). After a 3-metre step, an inclined bedding-plane crawl and a narrow meandering passage lead to the head of a 16-metre shaft. A chamber with large blocks opens up, from which two descending galleries branch off. The farther one (also active) ends at 40 metres. The main branch descends rapidly through a succession of small steps with potholes (active streamway). The cave takes on whimsical canyon forms with clear bedding planes in the limestone strata. The galleries follow one another between the steps; 2 inlets increase the flow of the cave. It reaches its maximum depth at -110 metres in an impassable crawl. The cave's axis is around 300 metres, trending N--N-E, and after a surveyed development of 315 metres it ends very close to the large Iluntxeta de Arriluxe shaft, so it is more than likely that they connect at some point of their unknown development.

If the ravine carries water, it enters the first one (AR-15). It is a dangerous sinkhole in flood.
