Pou de la Carbonera

Petit avenc de 14 metres de fondària al municipi de Collbató.

Collbató • Baix Llobregat22m14m

Small pit 14 metres deep in the municipality of Collbató, discovered in September 1989 by members of the SIS of the Centre Excursionista de Terrassa.

Characteristics

Location

The location is difficult and complicated, as the area is heavily wooded. The most feasible route is along the camí de les Voltes or de Sant Miquel, which can be reached from Collbató. In the very middle of its course, at the point called les Bateries, a path heads S towards the coll de les Garrigoses. From this col we will descend in the direction of the torrent Fondo, going in search of an old charcoal-burners' path, very lost and elusive, which winds its way down steeply towards the torrent bed, if we do not lose it, which is very common. We will pass a couple of charcoal platforms that are somewhat difficult to make out; one is on the opposite side of the serrat de les Garrigoses; the second, a little further down, places us in the middle of the hollow formed by the col. Halfway between this second charcoal platform and a third located further down, one needs a lot of luck to stumble upon a path on the right that follows the serrat at mid-height. This little path is quite flat and will lead us directly to a couple of charcoal platforms; at the second one, on its right-hand side and among some rocks, the mouth of the cavity becomes visible.

This route is the most advisable for accessing this pit and the pous de Torrent Fondo, although one can also arrive via the camí de les Feixades and, at the point called Pas de la Barra, go back up the torrent Fondo. Progress along this route is very difficult and rough.
