Description

Morphology

The entrance is a fine 3 m by 2 opening; the shaft flares out 8 metres lower down, to emerge in a fairly vast chamber. The floor is covered with a cone of scree and humus. a fissure that was dynamited to the South gave, by a 4-metre step down, onto a pretty concretion-covered chamber topped by a chimney estimated at 15 metres. Below the step, one finds again the scree of the P 19. Towards the North, a low passage with an earthy floor stops at a joint that quickly becomes impenetrable; opposite, one finds the same break, by a climb above wedged blocks. One comes up against a small chimney; below, a small step gives onto an impenetrable start in a joint. The ceiling is made of imposing calcified blocks. a sloping chamber, also very concretion-covered, turns towards the North into 2 corridors entirely lined with immaculate mondmilch. a break in blocks heads North, impenetrable. At the back is a small niche, and a descending crawl down to the low point, where stalactites and stalagmites clutter an already very reduced space.

Speleothems

The shaft and the chamber show an old concretion; its thickness can be measured by passing behind the trunk, in a small niche under a thick stalagmitic mantle. The sloping chamber is very concretion-covered (stalagmites bristling with “cauliflowers”, stalactites, etc.).

Progression

a large trunk is set against the wall along which one descends. Behind the deer antlers, a step gives onto a wedged block, which one goes around to arrive in a small concretion-covered chamber, keeping along the only sound wall of this sector. One continues to follow the wall to descend another small step giving onto a sloping chamber. One returns to the sound wall to slip into a narrow descending passage.

Other details

a little lower down, on the floor, are 2 magnificent deer antlers caught in the calcite. One can note a fairly clear draught, a little everywhere in the hole, but especially in this passage.
