Description

Morphology

Its entrance is also among the large ones of the cavities in the area (20.4 x 8 m) and, like GB-3, it opens at the contact between the limestone and the granite. It consists of a single shaft 68 metres deep. Gravel and ice make up the floor of the pit.

Hydrology

The descent is made down to the -15 level along the S wall in dry conditions, and from there on and down to the base, under an intense shower resulting from the melting of the ice that occupies the wall and that accompanies one all the way down.

History

Discovered and explored by members of GIEG – AE de Granollers during the 1988 season.
