Description
Morphology
Through a pit 6 metres deep with a section of 2 m x 3 m, which deserves great attention (risk of collapse), one reaches a 25-metre gallery that rises towards the surface to the west and pinches out in the direction of cave n°2.
The caves, which in reality are only one, are separated at their end by about thirty metres by a gallery filled probably by surface collapses.
They develop at shallow depth, in breccias and conglomerates of the Bartonian (Eocene).
Speleothems
Ceilings and fillings in conglomerate of the "taparas" style can be observed.
Hydrology
The breccias and conglomerates of the Bartonian (Eocene) are polished by the circulation of water which certainly still uses them, to a lesser extent during rains, judging by the traces on the ground.
Other details
In these two cavities Neolithic sherds can also be observed.
Unfortunately, while talking with the earthworks company, we learned that the land was to be levelled and, consequently, these cavities will be filled in!
