Description
Morphology
The cave is divided into 2 parts:
1) The cavity first develops in a dolomitic limestone of the Lower Portlandian. The gallery is generally low, its walls are crumbly.
2) The cavity continues in the Upper Portlandian. Widening of the galleries with a few small chambers then an ascending joint. In the following chamber, there is an ascending chimney with a draught and traces of dormice. After about fifty metres, the gallery reaches a major joint.
Hydrology
N.B.: the crossing of the wet vaults was carried out during a period of significant low water. The presence and variation of water suggest a karstification that must develop further on beneath the Cassède plateau[ref]Guillaume CHARDIN - CDS83, Fichier des cavités du Var > "Grotte Olivier" (numéro 3140005) : http://www.fichiertopo.fr/display.php?details=1&indexid=1314[/ref].
