Description
Morphology
This cave forms a fine tunnel 48 metres long, starting from the south of the cove (north-east entrance covered by another Grottocenter record) and emerging in a deep indentation of the coast where the sea enters (south-west entrance covered by this Grottocenter record). Its average width is 3 to 4 metres, with a narrowing to 1 metre in the middle of the gallery. Its average height is 3 metres above the water, and 1.5 metres at the exit.
About a dozen metres to the S.E. of the tunnel entrance, another cave forms a fissure 7 metres long, 10 metres high and 1 metre wide, which pierces the rock to reach the indentation[ref]Guillaume CHARDIN - CDS83, Fichier des cavités du Var > "Grotte marine de Saint-Barthélémy n°1" (number 1118011): https://www.fichiertopo.fr/display.php?details=1&indexid=2212[/ref].
Hydrology
The water depth is 3 to 4 metres at the entrance and 1.4 metres at the exit.
