Description

Morphology

Side passages on the right of the porch. The entrance gallery is 25 m long and 5 to 8 m wide. At the back of this gallery, against the left wall, a ventilated vertical shaft 12 m high (+16) arrives, very close to the surface. Just after, at the top of a flowstone, a horizontal passage starts on the left. The main conduit continues north for about fifty metres; it is more cluttered with blocks and clayey and silty fill. Before the end, on the left, a crawlway and a shaft 6 metres high start. The whole right edge of this gallery is dotted with smaller conduits that more or less join up.

Progression

One climbs on the right, skirting a well-preserved old lime kiln. At the back of the entrance gallery, several possibilities: against the left wall, the ventilated vertical shaft 12 m high (+16); just after, at the top of a flowstone, the horizontal passage on the left (unobstructed by the SCM in 2022), with 10 metres of progression and a stop at a constriction with a draught. The main conduit then continues north for about fifty metres.

Other details

The entrance gallery is largely lit by the sun. It served as an extraction site to supply the kiln; the walls are blackened and inscriptions, some high up, attest to the recent presence of humans and the anthropogenic use of the cave.
