Description
Morphology
The cave is in the Carixian stage. The opening, located 10 m higher than the road, is 7 m wide; it is almost closed by fallen blocks and a mass of clay, and its maximum height is 0.70 m. After this wide entrance, at 6 m, the passage through which the stream arrives is only 1.50 m wide and 0.60 m high; it is oriented at 334°. The walls are irregular and heavily corroded. The surrounding rock is very clastic and this low gallery is rubble-strewn.
Hydrology
The water emerges at the base of a very fissured rock bed 2 to 3 m thick. It then flows in a bed 1.50 m wide between V-shaped banks 5 m high. Going upstream along the ruisseau souterrain (underground stream), one passes through two chambers filled with rubble, then stops in front of a very low vault, above water 0.50 m deep. The ruisseau souterrain (underground stream) has been followed upstream for about 700 m.
