Àger • Noguera 7m 5m

Small pit just over 5 metres deep in the Montsec d'Ares (Àger), located by Antoni Huguet and cleared in 1995.

Characteristics

Location

Access is via the paved track that climbs from Àger to the Montsec d'Ares. On reaching the lower platform of the Montsec, at the height of the Montsec del Gabrieló, we will turn off onto the track to the right, and a few metres further on we will turn off again to the right in the direction of the Colobor hermitage-refuge. Once past the corral and the Gabrieló spring, we will find a junction: to the left it leads to the Colobor hermitage, we must continue to the right in the direction of the Mont de Tareu. 200 metres after the junction, we will leave the track and head to the left in an E direction, towards a small cliff hanging over the barranc de Finestrelles where we will find the cavity.

Approximate coordinates to be checked and without much precision.

Description

Morphology

A small entrance in the wall of the small crag gives access to a pit just over one metre in diameter and 5.5 metres deep.

Progression

In 1995 Antoni Huguet accompanied two members of the SIE-CEA to the entrance of the cavity, which had to be cleared with micro-explosives in order to get through.

History

Located by Antoni Huguet of Àger, at the end of the nineteen-sixties of the last century, he told Joan Pallarès of the existence of the cavity, who published a note in the magazine Gours in 1980, but without knowing its location.
