Characteristics

Location

By the BV-4031 road from Castellar de n'Hug, shortly after kilometre 21 we reach the coll de la Creueta, where we turn left onto a track heading towards the Pla de Rus and the coll de la Bassa; before reaching it, when the track levels out, we find ourselves a little more than a hundred metres of elevation difference below the summit of Pla Baguet, and we will have to climb this elevation difference until reaching the summit where the cavity is found.

Description

Morphology

An absorption form strongly conditioned by tectonics. The narrow mouth and small entrance shaft give way to various ramps and steps of changing direction, due to the crossed orientation of the dominant joints, which lead to a narrow and tall final gallery that ends impenetrable.

Other details

According to the first explorers, the name of the cavity refers to the name of the summit where it is found, cim del Tarter, but according to the Nomenclàtor de toponímia major de Catalunya, this is none other than the cim de Pla de Baguet, and the ICGC also calls it this.

Near this pit, specifically a few metres to the SE, there are three cavities, the Forats nº 2, 3 and 4 del TARTER; attempts have been made to dig these open on various occasions between 1978 and 1981, without results. They are impenetrable sinkholes.

Nil Hosta and Tanit Sanmartin relocate it again in July 2026.

History

Explored and surveyed in 1978 by the GE Badalona, although it was not published until the appearance of the third volume of the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya in 2009.
