Characteristics

Location

From the western end of Bellver de Cerdanya you must set out in the direction of Pi and turn off towards Santa Eugènia de Nerellà, and shortly before arriving turn left towards Olià and then continue on to the small village of Nas. Here you must follow the track that heads towards the Serrat de l'Avetosa and when it begins to climb, the track makes a 'paella bend' and a little further on a left-hand curve where you must leave the vehicle. Here a narrow, level ridge begins, amid dense vegetation, heading towards a small hill. Below it, in the middle of a steeply sloping wood and trying to keep close to the wall, is the cavity, which is not visible until you reach the entrance itself.

Description

Morphology

The entrance, like a window, communicates with an 8-metre vertical pit that gives rise to a fairly notable chamber. At its base, occupied by a debris cone, a short ramp begins in a SE direction that reaches the point of maximum depth (level – 10). In the opposite direction it also descends a little, then reaches a constricted passage where, once passed, one enters a chimney that can be climbed for 11 metres (level + 3).

Hydrology

Above the hill, on the narrow ridge, an impenetrable infiltration point has been located that seems to correspond to the interior chimney.

History

This cavity, known for a long time by some people from the small village of Nas, had remained unpublished until a team from the “Grup de l'espeleodijous” were informed by some people from the village and located it and subsequently explored it on 16 October 2014. At the entrance they found a 'spit', a sign that seems to indicate some earlier exploration, although it is not known who and when it was carried out, nor the name they might have given to the cavity.
