Exsurgence de la Mangrove

The access fissure opens in a hollow surrounded by slope scree. It is 2.5 m high but only 0.3 to 0.2 m wide and soon 0.1 m. At floor level, it widens into a 0.5 m crawlway that allows passage.

Upstream, one ascends a gallery 1 m to 1.5 m wide and 3 m to 4 m high. At about 80 m, a low vault, 1.2 m long, leaves only a 0.1 m space above the water. At about 160 m, a passage beneath a stratum 8 to 10 m wide. Then the gallery regains its profile and, at 250 m, one arrives in front of a sump.

The dives revealed a flooded gallery 120 m long with a height difference of -12 m. It is first 3 m in diameter but gradually narrows. a muddy chamber 5 m by 5 m brings the exploration to an end. The total development is about 380 m.

Underground stream (ruisseau souterrain) that has cut a bed in a joint. The stream has carved a bed along the line of a north-south-trending joint. Downstream, a cascade falls 6 m into a pool with a duck; the water emerges 20 m lower down.

Crawling for a distance of 5 m, one emerges at the underground stream (ruisseau souterrain). Downstream, one follows the stream for about ten metres to a cascade. Upstream, one ascends a gallery. At about 80 m, immersion is necessary.
