Characteristics

Location

In the highest part of the village of la Riba and along the TV-7044 road towards Farena, take the path on the right that leads towards the Puig de Marc, leaving the characteristic hill of the Castell del Dalmau on our right. On reaching the first flat area formed by the Puig de Marc, move westwards to look for a cliff (Pena del Puig) rising above the valley of the riu Brugent, and a few metres below the upper cliff and beside a gully lies the cavity, a few metres further west of the avenc GERS.

Approximate coordinates and difficult to locate.

Description

Morphology

It is a typical collapse fissure affected by a significant clastic process.

Progression

Through a chaos of blocks one enters a vertical fissure that allows a descent to the -30 level where a ledge is formed. From here one can continue descending along the same fissure 17 metres further to a narrow, long floor running E-W, making it possible to reach the maximum depth level (-56) after a small step at its easternmost end.

History

Discovered and explored by members of GERS – AE Muntanya (Barcelona) around the year 1975.
