Location

At Port (Baix Ebre). From Cova Cambra, on the Mola de Catí, one must head S and pass the head of the barranc or canal de la Galiassa (according to some maps: Saliassa). The plateau of the Mola ends in a rocky area aligned NE to SW, which forms a cliff. One must continue in a SW direction until reaching the point where one can access the S slope and, at the foot of the cliff, go back up. The first cavity encountered is the Cova del Pas del Roquer de la Galiassa. Approximate coordinates.

Description

Morphology

Through a wide entrance one enters a gallery about 10 metres long that gradually narrows and loses height. Shortly before the end there is a small shaft of just over 2 metres that leads to the upper part of a descending gallery that after about 8 metres connects with a lower entrance that communicates with the outside on the other side of the cliff.

History

Although they were certainly cavities known to the shepherds of the region, the first speleological reference is given by members of SIRE – UEC Tortosa (later Espeleo Club Tortosa) who explored them between August and September 1978.
