Description
Morphology
Although it is cited as a cave, the cavity is accessed by a small shaft of just under 4 m that places one in a gallery. In an E direction it ends after a few metres. We will continue in a W direction along a ramp that appears to end in an accumulation of blocks, but which we can overcome on the right through a narrow passage. A few metres after passing this passage we will be able to see the light of the second entrance (we can easily climb back up, but not exit to the outside, as a block prevents it). From here the gallery continues on a gentle slope until it becomes obstructed by blocks. The entire cavity is formed by unstable blocks.
Progression
In the sector where the cavity is located there are also several more openings, all of them impassable, one of them partially occupied by a block and which, once inside the cavity, we confirm is a second entrance of the coves of les Roques de la Torre and that it would be easy to remove the block.
History
The coves of les Roques de la Torre have been known since ancient times by the inhabitants of the neighbouring villages. As early as 1918 J. Ferraté mentions them, although later they fall into the most absolute oblivion, probably due to the scant speleological interest of the area. Formerly there were more openings near the current one, hence the plural name Coves de les Roques de la Torre, but they were filled in during a remodelling of the surrounding esplanade for agricultural use. In 1977 the cavity could be followed for about 50 metres more.
The GELL surveyed it in 1985; later, Jaume Ferreres and Jordi de Valles (EC Gràcia) surveyed it again on 28 December 2014.
