Characteristics

Location

The cave is located in Horta de Sant Joan (el Port). From Horta de Sant Joan, take the track heading toward les Roques d'en Benet and continue toward the Franqueta recreational area. From there, follow it in the direction of the Mas de Quiquet, the Vall de Pastor, and leave the car at the Coll del Llop. The cave is about 200 metres N of the col, following a small path marked with cairns.

Description

Morphology

The cavity is divided into two sections. One forms a short ascending gallery about 4 or 5 metres long and about 2 metres wide. Behind it is another concavity of larger dimensions, approximately 6 metres long by about 6 metres wide. All dimensions are estimates, as we do not know of any survey of the cavity.

Speleothems

The floor of the first section is occupied by a multitude of gours (les piletes).

History

Known for many years by hikers and people familiar with the area. It has never had any speleological reference.
