Characteristics

Location

To the NE of the Mola de la Viuda, in the Serra de Santa Marina (Pratdip). From Vandellòs one must take the paved track that leads to the deserted village of Remullà and from there follow the track heading towards the Coll Roig. At a small col where the track widens we will take a path on the right, leaving the road. The path begins to climb steeply in short zigzags among remains of terraced fields overrun by the pine forest up to the base of the cliff that separates us from the ridge of the serra. A few metres following the base of the wall to the right will leave us at the base of the Canal del Macari.

A few metres before reaching the Mola de Viuda and on the eastern side we find the Pas del Teix, which, like the canal del Macari, allows us to overcome the cliff that closes off practically the whole ridge of the Serra de Santa Marina.

Description

Morphology

Small cave protected by a dry-stone wall that must have served as a shelter in case of bad weather. Once past this, a short gallery of triangular section begins, which closes after a few metres.

We do not have a survey.

Progression

We descend the short, quite steep stretch and take a rather faint path going down. At a junction we see the marker of the other path that will take us to the next cave.

History

Referenced on most maps of the area. Known to hikers, but it has never been included in any speleological catalogue.
