A cavity 115 metres long with 20 metres of vertical drop in Cervelló, known since forever and explored speleologically in 1936 or 1937.

Characteristics

Location

The cavity is located in the municipality of Cervelló. In front of the old house of the Lledoner a track starts; you must follow the one on the right. After passing under a power line, the path climbs and we find a track on the left that comes from the coll del Pla de Comes. Continuing a little further along the track we were on, it descends and passes a few metres above the cavity.

Description

Morphology

A 3-metre rise leads to the entrance of a room measuring 23 x 6 metres, which at its opposite end has another entrance by means of a 6-metre shaft preceded by a short ramp. In the very middle of the room there is a large collapse, behind which there are two crawls that, after a rugged route, converge into lower rooms.

Other details

The cavity is 115 metres long with 20 metres of vertical drop.

History

Known since forever by the people of the Lledoner. It does not appear in any of the old catalogues (Font; Faura). It is not until the end of 1936 or the beginning of 1937 (in the middle of the war), that it is discovered speleologically during the study campaigns of the area, carried out by members of the Club Muntanyenc Barcelonès and directed by N. Llopis Lladó. He himself would publish the results in a work that appeared in 1941 in the magazine “Estudios geográficos” published in Madrid.

Years later the cavity gained popularity for introductory speleology outings. There exists a magnificent anonymous survey, from the archives of the SES – CE Puigmal (Barcelona), made towards the end of the 1950s.
