Description

Morphology

Single gallery, high and narrow, with blocks wedged between the walls.

Tectonic cavity set in Cambrian slates.

Speleothems

At the bottom some lithogenic forms can be observed.

History

Known since olden times by the people of the village. The only reference we know of is due to the visit made by members of the ERE – CEC on 31 October 1971.

It should be said that in the village they call it by the Castilianism Cova de les “Zorres”. On some maps by Editorial Alpina it appears as Cova de les Guineus. We have preferred to make the translation into Aranese.
