Characteristics

Location

Located on the C-153 road from l'Esquirol to Cantonigròs, once past kilometre 21 and just after crossing the Pont de les Perxes, a paved track leaves from the left that passes through Sant Julià de Cabrera. On reaching the Collet de Sant Julià you must turn right in the direction of the Freixeneda; once past it, the track continues as a dirt road and a high vehicle is advisable. The end of the track is at the Coll de Bram car park. From here you must take the path that climbs to the Mare de Déu de Cabrera, but follow it in the opposite direction, towards the S; after 400 metres, when the path begins a steeper descent, we will turn right, where we will find the Bora del Muler about thirty metres away. The N entrance is found in the form of a funnel at the foot of a tree, while the S entrance is located a few metres to the S, at the point where the fissure that forms the Bora del Camí begins.

Description

Morphology

It is a fissure oriented N-S, with two entrances to the exterior. Its entrances, located at the N end, give way to a ramp that soon reaches the maximum depth, continuing the cavity ascending with steps until reaching the central part, with a high ceiling, from where it descends in a gentle slope until finding a new stony ramp that ends at the foot of the wall that closes the cave.

History

This whole group of fissures known as the Bores d'en Masallera were explored between 1978 and 1981 by the Grup Espeleològic Mollet, which at the time carried out intense research and exploration work in the Cabrerès area.
