Characteristics

Location

On the BV-4243 road that climbs from Castellar del Riu to the Rasos de Peguera, at kilometre 12.9, 250 metres before reaching the Coll del Sant Crist, on the right of the road a track closed to vehicles branches off that in 2.1 kilometres will take us to the Collada dels Rasets, where there is a pool for much of the year.

From the Collada dels Rasets we will follow the track uphill towards the S, in the direction of the Torreta dels Enginyers (antenna installation) 50 metres after passing the avenc dels Bolets, we will leave the track on the left in an E direction, after 44 metres we will find the fissure where the various entrances of the cavity open.

Description

Morphology

Cavity with three entrances. If we come from the avenc de la Torrota we find a doline with entrance no. 1. By a 2.40 metre drop we will reach a small chamber that at its end has an 8.70 metre shaft that leaves us in a gallery 1.50 metres wide. A few steps further down we reach the maximum depth of the cavity. If we advance in a SW direction, we will go up until its end at 10 metres of passage. To the NE, at about 5 metres we see a window that gives onto entrance no. 3. At 2 metres to the left, there is a crawlway that, passing between fissures and blocks, leads us to entrance no. 4.

Through entrance no. 3 with dimensions of 1.50X1.50 metres, we find a 2.60 metre drop, descending this we reach a small chamber with a floor of blocks, at 2 metres we are at the aforementioned window, which gives onto the main gallery by means of a 4.40 metre shaft.

If we enter through entrance no. 4, we will descend a ramp until reaching a 3.20 metre drop, from here a fissure leads us to the main gallery.

History

The SIRE-UEC de Sants located it on 25 and 26 May 1969, and explored it on 23 and 24 June of the same year.

The SIE del CEA explored and surveyed it in 1973.

The GE Badalona during a prospecting campaign carried out during the second half of the 2000s, renamed it avenc R-8 de Rasets.

Toponymy: The name avenc Mollat with which the cavity was cited is a grammatical error, since the name was given referring to the fact that the cavity was very wet.
