Location

Following the paved track from Bagà to Gisclareny, on reaching the coll d'Escriga, we will leave the vehicle and access perpendicularly to the right to some meadows that must be crossed. Passing beside a pond, we will go into the forest in a NW direction, where we will soon find the depression.

Description

Morphology

It is a deep depression 28 metres deep and about 50 metres in diameter, opened in limestone and gypsum materials.

Inside the same depression and hanging on one of its slopes, we find an entrance of tectonic origin less than 3 metres deep, which the explorers catalogued independently of the previous cavity with the initials G-2.

Hydrology

In its lowest part we find two holes, through one of them the runoff waters of the area seep away.

Progression

Beside this one and a little above it opens a small entrance through which one can access a small descending chamber with the floor and walls totally covered by clay.

History

Explored in 1993 by the SIES of Esplugues de Llobregat.

This depression was indicated to the SIES by the manager of the Gisclareny campsite. During several weekends an attempt was made to clear the hole located at the bottom of the depression, achieving a fairly unstable semi-horizontal opening with a weak air current; however, the rains that fell on the following days caused a landslide of the wall of the depression that covered again everything that had been cleared.
