Location

The cavity is located in the serra d'Arçosa (la Baronia de Rialb), 30 metres from the Pou del Dring (avenc de Pau Esteve), we do not know in which direction. According to the GELL it is located at the bottom of a 3-metre-deep fissure, and according to the ERE-CEC at the bottom of a small doline. Approximate coordinates without much precision.

Description

Morphology

The entrance of 0.50x0.40 metres gives access to a single joint of direction E10S, whose maximum width is one metre. Three shafts of 7, 8 and 5 metres, interspersed with short descending ramps, place us at the bottom of the cavity, where its narrowness prevents any continuation.

History

Explored by the ERE of the CEC in 1969, who returned on 18 January 1970. At first it was called avenc de l'Hostiat, but on finding in it a new species of Speonomus, it seemed too irreverent a name to publish in a serious magazine. According to latest information, the area where these cavities are found would currently be located in a private hunting preserve.
