Characteristics

Location

It is located on the NE slope of the Trespics summit, at a height similar to the col of the same name and 230 m WNW of the antenna hut.

Access can be gained via the GIV-5264 road from Camprodon to Setcases, and once past Vilallonga de Ter one must take the left-hand turn-off that climbs to Tregurà de Dalt. From here a track continues that must be followed as far as the collet de la Gralla, where a right-hand branch sets off up towards the Coma de Fontlletera and the coll dels Tres Pics.

Description

Morphology

The entrance opens in a shallow trench and leads to a small, not very wide shaft 5 metres deep. At its base the fissure can be followed down a ramp of small rubble, one metre wide, until reaching the deepest point of the cavity. From here one can climb back up through the crack until reaching the passage blocked by boulders.

Other details

Geospeleology: The pit develops along a NE-SW joint (50-230) that cuts a level of carbonate rocks (marbles, limestones, dolomites) with an approximate dip of about 26º towards the WSW (258/26). The carbonate level has a thickness of decametric order and is intercalated in a metalutitic and metarenitic series.

History

Discovered and explored by members of the GERS of the AE Muntanya around the year 1999.
