Characteristics

Location

From the S side, from the church square, we will follow the carrer de la Bassa and take the camí del Castell; at the end of this we will find the Parc de les Olors de la Miloquera and the Mediterranean turtle interpretation centre. From their car park, we will head SW, pass over the summit of the Miloquera and, continuing in the same direction, pass the different entrances of the fissure that forms the Miloquera. Once we reach the entrance of the pou del Cireret, we will go about 45 metres on a bearing of S10E, where we will find the avenc de les Perles next to the cliff that drops down to the riera de Marçà. From the entrances of the pous del Pastoret and dels Ossos, we should head SE for about 85 metres to find the cavity. Approximate coordinates.

Description

Morphology

The 2x1 metre entrance comfortably places us at the base of the first -17 metre pit, where we find a fissure. Following it eastwards, before reaching the end of the gallery, which ends in a narrow passage through which the outside can be seen, we will find a pit of about -15 metres that places us at the base of a fairly narrow fissure running SW-NE. Following it NE, it maintains a height of about 10 metres, ending a few metres further on; following it SW, the fissure descends on a slope of stones while winding in the same direction until reaching the -36 metre level, where it ends; the total length of the fissure is 42 metres. Returning to the base of the entrance pit, if we head SW, a steep 30º slope takes us to the only chamber in the cavity, formed from a widening of the fissure; the ramp continues with a steeper incline until reaching a new pit, which places us at -42 metres. We continue along the gallery for about 30 metres, until after a crawl the passage becomes completely impassable at -48 metres, this being the deepest point of the cavity.

History

We do not know who the first explorers were, but the first documented mention we have reference to is that of the Espeleo Club de Gràcia, who explored and surveyed it in 1979.
