Characteristics

Location

From the hill that serves as our reference point for finding the cova de les Campanes, continue descending along the edge of the diaclase for about 100 metres until reaching a small ledge fairly clear of vegetation; to the left of the diaclase and about 10 metres away is the entrance between two holm oaks. Approximate coordinates, not very precise.

Description

Morphology

The entrance, in the form of a fissure, descends down a steep slope to reach a crawlway through which one enters the interior of the cavity. Once inside, the descending gallery leads to a narrow passage, which once passed places us at the upper part of a pit that can be descended without the need for equipment. At the bottom a flat-out passage gives way to a rounded little chamber that connects with another lower one. In the direction opposite the flat-out passage, a gallery leads to a small chamber from which another descending gallery emerges, leading to another lower room where the deepest point of the cavity is found at -25 metres. From the descending gallery, one can climb up a chimney that reaches a room with many concretions, and following the same gallery covered with blocks, one reaches a narrow passage where there is a pit that is obstructed; to the right of this last narrow passage we find an ascending crawlway that leads us to the foot of a chimney. At the top of a small chamber, already near the surface, a descending fissure starts that brings us back to the first entrance pit.
