Characteristics

Location

From carrer de l'Aigua, in Roda de Berà, you pass under the railway line and continue along the old Camí de Bonastre, following the bed of the torrent de Cal Setró. Follow the first turn-off to the left until reaching a water tank. Continue along the ridge to the Torre del Cucurull and the turó del Cucurull. Right at the col that follows we will find a post with signposts. We will head to the right, with no path, descending and with sparse cairns and few paint marks. Above and a little to the N of the high-speed train tunnel (what they call AVE).

Description

Morphology

An entrance of 0.8 x 0.6 m that leads to a descending chamber, located 1.5 m below the entrance. This chamber descends gently and after 6 m of passage the mouth of a shaft with a 2.5 m drop opens up. From here on the gallery gradually narrows until it ends closed in a short gallery 3 m long by 1 m wide.

Speleothems

The short gallery 3 m long by 1 m wide is heavily decorated with formations.

History

Known for a long time by the inhabitants of Roda de Berà and visited for its easy access. On 5-5-1968 members of the GE Talaia (Vilanova i la Geltrú) surveyed it and later published a note in Espeleòleg.

Toponymy: In the first reference it appears as Floresso, at the entrance an old piece of graffiti can still be seen reading Flaselo and on the signpost it appears as Flareso. In the absence of further information we keep the oldest name.
