Aven du Mas Miquel

It is a large sloping chamber oriented NE, about thirty metres long by 12 wide at its greatest width and under 3 to 6 m of ceiling depending on the spot.

The steep, uneven slope of 40° on average is covered with rocky scree. It lands in its lower part on a horizontal clay floor. At this level, the vertical drop is at most 25 metres.

Before reaching the final clay floor, an opening in the slope gives access to a small clayey ogival chamber of 5 m x 4 m and 4 metres high.

The bottom of the large chamber at the clay bed drops suddenly and a low gallery of 0.8 metre oriented North allows one to reach, after 5 metres, a small chamber of 2.6 metres in diameter whose continuation was closed by a 30 cm squeeze.

Energetically chiselled, the squeeze gives passage towards a descending bulge from which starts a small horizontal gallery cluttered with a filling of dense clay blocks.

The cavity is moreover very rich in speleothems.

The cavity is reached by a large P6 with an opening of 2 m x 1.6 m.

After the chiselled squeeze, the passage is now made by crawling towards a descending bulge.
