Aven de la Chèvre

A fine P 37 breaks through the floor of a vast doline about 20 m in diameter and leads into a large chamber measuring 50 x 40 x 15 m. A second chamber, smaller than the first but nonetheless significant, measures 15 x 6 x 20 m. On the right-hand wall, about 4 m above the floor, a window (Un) opens onto a blind P 12. Two distinct passages between blocks lead to the P 18 and the P 15; these intersect, at roughly the same level, a small passage leading after a few metres to the lowest point of the cave, at the -79 m level.

The large chamber contains large decorated masses.

Descending the scree slope on the left (south-east), one reaches the bottom of it at the foot of a vast shaft with clean-cut walls. There, three possibilities present themselves: a low passage on the right leads to a shaft climbed for about 20 m; to the south south-west, the gallery soon ends in a small chamber with a floor of cracked clay; facing us (east - south-east), through two small forced passages, one reaches the second chamber after a short crawl. If one takes the tube that opens as a window into the chamber, it would be advisable to use a ladder to descend. The two distinct passages between blocks lead to the P 18 and the P 15 (possibility of descending by down-climbing, but a safety rope is recommended).
