History
The site also yielded a child burial aged 2 to 4 years, dated to 10,190 ± 100 years BP (i.e. 9,990-10,390 cal BP) and accompanied by a very rich shell ornament (900 dentalia, 160 Neritina, 20 Cyclope and 36 Turritella). Although the dating corresponds rather to the Azilian, the grave goods are nonetheless rooted in the Magdalenian world.
The site was occupied in the Middle Ages; surviving as evidence of this troglodyte village are a church partly cut into the rock and the ruins of a castle that overlooked the site.
