Morfologia
The entrance opens not far from a fold that appears to cut across the cavity between S2 and S3, causing rockfalls and collapses. This fold-fault developed in the Bathonian would be the one marked on the 1/100000 hydrogeological map of Quercy.
Idrologia
This network, which is only the underground delta of the Saint-Sulpice springs, is fed by the Assier sinkholes. It consists of three springs: Font del Pito, Font del Moussur and le Jordy (fluorescent tracing, TARRISSE 1974). The main spring is Font del Pito, the other two corresponding to “overflow”. Font del Moussur has the characteristic of having a fossil level that does not exist a priori in the other two springs, or at least in their entrance zones. The flow observed in Font del Moussur is about 10 l/s in flood.
