Trou de Lavelanou n°14

The opening is at the top of the small depression where holes 11, 12 and 13 open, at the foot of a 3 m high rock bar. It measures 1 m x 0.5 and leads to a pretty 9 m shaft, blocked at elevation -10. The second shaft, 22 m deep, is vertical, then steeply inclined. At its base, a ledge precedes a further 7 m vertical drop where one lands in a room 8 m x 3. To the North, a 3 m climb leads to a 5.5 m shaft and to a new room 8 m x 5, choked with blocks at elevation -42. A traverse above the P 4 allows one to follow for 12 m a very steeply ascending passage, which then becomes vertical and seems to climb rather high. At the bottom of the second 7 m descent shaft, an ascent towards the South in a boulder slope ends in a room 4 m in diameter. A severe right-angled constriction allows progress of about fifteen metres in small boulder-choked galleries, ending in a truly dangerous room, formed between large blocks that seem to hold by a miracle. Above the start of this boulder-choked network, an 8 m artificial climb leads to a niche at the base of a vertical inlet choked with large blocks.

At -7, a pendulum allows one to reach a horizontal gallery; after 4 m, a constriction between large blocks opens into a small boulder-choked room, sloping, in whose floor the opening of the second shaft lies. On the left wall at the bottom of the P 5.5 (West), an easy climb leads to a threshold followed by a P 4 which is descended without equipment. Just above its base, a chimney ascends vertically. Where we stopped, a window gives into a small room, a 3 m step leads onto wedged blocks overhanging a P 12 which is none other than the chimney above the base of the P 4.

Despite the draught rising between the blocks, a dig would be pure suicide.
