A cavity in the Upper Georgian limestone massif, beginning with a vertical fissure 3 metres deep and continuing through chambers, joints and steps to the junction with the Trou des Gabards.
Descrizione
Morfologia
The cavity begins with a very narrow vertical fissure, 3 metres deep. It opens through a small hole into a small sloping chamber that must be climbed up. After squeezing through a crawlway between blocks, one reaches a crossing of three galleries. To the right and left, two joints can be followed, continuing for about ten metres.
The main gallery continues via a step over blocks; then a few metres further on one reaches a chamber cut by a large rock bridge. On one side, a 3-metre step ends in an impenetrable fissure. On the other side, the digging out of a constriction gives access 3 metres lower down to a final chaotic chamber, pierced at the bottom by a 7-metre step that forms the junction with the Trou des Gabards.
Altri dettagli
Geology: Upper Georgian limestone.
Notes on ventilation: during our exploration, an indrafting air current ran through the descending galleries of the Trauc Gabards-ine, possibly creating a “wind tube” phenomenon with the entrance galleries of the Trou des Gabards, which were clearly blowing out. It should be noted that, to our knowledge, this was the only indrafting cavity discovered on the massif; the other holes visited in the area at the same period tended to exhale.
