Résurgence de Cercle

An inclined plane leads to a flat area occupied by a body of water. One climbs back up to the right to reach a high point. From there, a forced passage descends for about ten metres; a dogleg passage must be negotiated to continue the descent. A narrow passage leads to a gallery that runs horizontally to the right before dropping again for about forty metres.

In September 2022, during a drought period, just after the first rains, the sump was found full of water. Although the ceiling had been raised, it is not possible to pass. The spring at the road had a low-water flow and all the springs of Miolène were dry. It therefore seems that the sump is fed directly by surface water without this coming from a rise in the rest of the gallery. The sump must therefore fill quickly as soon as it rains. The floor of the explored gallery is very muddy; it is therefore probably full of water for part of the year.

Exploration is ongoing. In the flat area, the body of water must be pumped out (about 500 litres).
