Nacedero de Mozarre

The entrance is 0.5 x 0.5 metres, a descending crawl until reaching the streamway. A narrow canyon-like meander 15 x 2 m continues, being in some places 60 metres long. The end is a sump 4 x 3 metres, the main point of the cavity. From this place there is also access and connection to a flooded passage with a forced conduit and a meander lined with pit-trap potholes. In this stretch there is an ascending flat-out squeeze that, due to its small dimensions, made its exploration difficult. Above the sump there is an ascending conduit.

Some giant potholes interspersed in marked meander bends are excavated by an important streamway that in dry periods is estimated at 50 l/s.

The entrance crawl requires digging operations until reaching the streamway. Progression through the meander lined with pit-trap potholes is complex via handlines. Several successive solo dives by the cave diver Eliseo Belzunce revealed a main sump 30 metres long, reaching a depth of -6 metres. After passing an air chamber and the start of a second sump of a few metres, the dive was ended in a dangerous area of unstable blocks. At present any possibility of continuation in the cavity is ruled out. A climb in an ascending conduit above the sump also gave no satisfactory results.
