The Irañeta spring constitutes, together with that of the cueva de Ponsolua Na 22/114, the main drainage of the Aralar massif toward the Araquil river. Four are the cavities that intervene in regulating its outflow during floods; the one located 30 m higher in level stands out, which in heavy rains forms an impressive waterfall.

The four cavities that regulate the outflow of the spring during floods have been the object of exploration. The cavity located 30 m higher in level has been the object of study by the Grupo Tritón in the year 2004, with the work reflected in video, photography and survey.
