From Elizondo, in the Etxaide neighbourhood, take the path to the Santa Engracia hermitage as far as the Martieneko borda; on its left-hand side continue on to enter the Karakotxea meadow and cross it to a wooded area, following the path that reaches the entrance of the pit, surrounded by barbed wire next to a chestnut tree.

On 19/06/1974 it was explored by the Institución Príncipe de Viana and the Departamento de Obras Publicas.
