Schematically, this igue consists of a shaft that, at elevation -13.50 m, intersects a wide gallery that has been largely filled in. Only the southern part hints at the original dimensions: 1 to 3 m wide for a height approaching ten meters.
Idrologia
It is possible that the current course of the waters of the perte de Goubert runs below the galleries of the igue Carrière.

In view of the morphology of this cavity, we could envisage an evolution process as follows: excavation of the galleries by the waters of the loss; phase of almost total filling of the cavity; resumption of partial activity with absorption of the waters by the median shaft (elevation -26.2); burial of the loss waters; filling in of the galleries by concretion. The désobstruction works that were undertaken have left very little hope of making a junction.
