Descrizione
Morfologia
The gallery has an average diameter of 1.3 metres, a length of 39 metres and almost no drop[ref]Guillaume CHARDIN - CDS83, Fichier des cavités du Var > "Grotte marine de la Pointe de la Vignette n°2" (number 2069029): http://www.fichiertopo.fr/display.php?details=true&indexid=2316[/ref]. Its very regular shape, different from the other caves of Giens, suggests an artificial tunnel, although no trace of tools (pointerolle, pick) is visible on the walls.
Idrologia
Given the pipe still present at the back of the gallery, it may be thought that this was a water mine, intended to capture an aquifer vein.
